Press Release Summary: An Australian entrepreneur aims to sell the 365 days of the year for USD$2500 each, to make him AU$1,000,000. Marinko Markovic, a husband who is always looking for a special way to surprise his wife on their wedding anniversary, has created his 'Your Day of the Year' website he hopes will attract others who also want to own any day of the year, for whatever reason, and share it with the world.
Press Release Body: Canberra, Australia, October 15, 2007 - A 39-year-old Australian entrepreneur has created a website he hopes will attract people who wish to \"own\" any day of the year. Any individual or company can purchase one of the days of the year for US$2500, and display any image they wish, to say why their day is special.
Marinko Markovic, from Canberra, Australia, set up yourdayoftheyear.com after trying to think of a way to impress his wife for their upcoming anniversary. Markovic said that without much money, it's hard to come up with a different surprise each year, so he jumped into action to create this site. \"I wanted to surprise my wife this year, but unfortunately I just missed our anniversary. However, We now own August 14, that's ours to keep.\"
Rather than just build a personal webpage or a MySpace site, that only family and friends would want to see, Markovic thought of creating a website, to enable them to share it with others who also wanted to own a day that is special to them.
\"My budget isn't huge, so buying expensive jewellery, or going on a nice holiday, just aren't easily achievable.\" Markovic hopes that the success of his website will help him financially to be able to do just those things.
After seeing the incredible success of other crazy internet ideas like "milliondollarhomepage.com", Markovic believes that this website will put his hometown of Canberra, Australia, on the internet success story map.
"I believe it won't take too long before all the days are gone. There are only 365 days in the year, so once they're sold, that's it, there is no more.\" explained Markovic.
Asked what he will do with the money should he sell all 365 days of the year, Markovic said, \"After paying off the mortgage and putting some away for retirement, I\'d like to take my wife on a nice holiday for our next anniversary. I also have a few other business ideas that I would like to give a go.\"
